Who's in the Japanese Netflix series?

From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke is finally available to stream on Netflix, and fans of the popular manga series didn’t waste any time checking out this live-action version. While watching the new Netflix original, you might wonder who stars in the leading roles. As always, we’ve got you covered. We shared the complete cast list below.

From Me to You is a Japanese live-action series adapted from the beloved manga Kimi ni Todoke, written and illustrated by Karuho Shiina. This isn’t the first time the manga has been adapted into another piece of work, either. It has previously been adapted into an anime series (which can be watched on Netflix) and a live-action feature film. The plot is the same in all adaptations.

The live-action series follows Sawako, a young teen girl who wishes to make friends but has a hard time fitting in with her peers due to her gloomy behavior. However, her life suddenly takes a turn for the better when the most popular boy in school, Shota Kazehaya, takes an interest in her.

Japanese actress Sara Minami plays the role of Sawako, the protagonist of the series. She’s known for her previous roles in the movies Shino Cannot Say Her Own Name, The Sun Does Not Move, Ride or Die, I Want to Be Killed by a High School Girl and This Child Is Evil. She also played the role of Nao Hayasse in the Japanese drama miniseries Doragon-zakura.

Oji Suzuka portrays the role of Shota Kazehaya, the popular teen boy who befriends Sawako and then ultimately falls in love with her. You might recognize Suzuka from his roles in the Japanese TV shows MIU404, The Curry Songs, Meiji Kaika: Shinjuro Tanteicho, Horimiya, Doragon-zakura, Kurosuteiru and Roppongi Class. He also had roles in the Japanese films Listen to the Universe and The Violence Action.
